Is Fons being replaced by a different product?
Nope! This is a rebrand, not a replacement. You’ll still have the same powerful scheduling, billing, and client management tools you’ve always used, just with a fresh new look and a more integrated future.
Is the company being sold or shutting down?
A: No. MakeMusic Studio is operating under the MakeMusic brand — a well-established company with a long track record. This is a brand consolidation, not a business change. The platform is not being discontinued, and the team behind it remains the same.
I'm not a music teacher, is MakeMusic Studio still for me?
Absolutely. MakeMusic Studio serves instructors, coaches, and studio owners of all kinds. Whether you teach yoga, dance, art, fitness, academics, languages, or anything else, Studio has everything you need to manage your business — client scheduling, billing, communication, and more. The name reflects the platform's roots, but the product is built for every type of studio owner.
Will my subscription price change?
No. Your current subscription rate remains exactly the same. The rebrand to MakeMusic Studio does not affect your existing pricing plan.
Do I need to migrate my data or re-invite my students?
Not at all. Your schedules, payment history, client profiles, and automated settings will transfer over seamlessly. You won’t lose a single byte of data.
What information do my staff and clients need?
We've put together these email templates to help you inform your teachers, parents, and students about the change, and what they should expect.
Will my login credentials still work?
Yes. You will continue to use your existing email and password to access your account. After the launch, you may simply notice that the login page looks a little different!
Do my students/clients need to do anything?
Nothing! The transition is designed to be invisible to your clients' daily routines. They will still receive their reminders and pay their invoices just like before.
Will the product features change or be removed?
No features are being removed. In fact, being part of the broader MakeMusic family means more investment in the product going forward. Our roadmap is focused on the tools that matter most to studio owners like you.
Will the emails my clients receive look different?
Starting mid-June, notification emails will feature the MakeMusic Studio logo. We recommend sending a quick note to your clients before the launch to let them know that emails coming from "MakeMusic Studio" are still from you!
Is the Fons team still here?
Yes! Fons Founder Eric Branner is spearheading this transition, and the same support team you know and love is still behind the scenes. We aren’t going anywhere, we’re just getting a new uniform.
